"Yesterday morning around 11 am the Meridian Police Department responded to a call involving the shooting of a 17 year old in this very neighborhood.
Detective Dareall Thompson says they do have a suspect in custody at this time."
"A 17 year old was shot in the 3300 block of 12th street. We do have one person in custody at this time. The victim was a 17 year old male who was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
Based on some information we received; they said they were playing with the weapon. We are still continuing to investigate." Thompson said.
