Ecocar 3 is a competition spread out over 16 universities to redesign a Chevrolet Camaro to reduce its environmental impact, while also maintaining the performance expected from the famous car.
A team from Mississippi State University are among the participating 16 colleges; and three of those students are from right here in meridian.
Ecocar is a 4 year long competition that focuses on different areas each year.
John Corn who is also involved with the competition says that the team has sought to achieve high levels of performance out of their Camaro.
Corn added that with all that performance; the team also has to take into account the hybrid characteristics of the vehicle.
