Since mid-December the meridian public school board has searched tirelessly for someone to fill the shoes of Dr. Alvin Taylor who is in the processing of stepping down from the role.
Yesterday in a press conference; the board announced they have chosen dr. Amy carter for the position of superintendent.
Carter says the receiving the position is a great honor.
