Area churches invite worshipers to join them this Thursday for a city prayer day at Dumont Plaza.
Organizers say the idea came about last year after a rise in crime.
This year they plan also to pray for the government, spiritual awakenings, andnd each other.
The prayer will happen Thursday night at 6:30.
