Meridian police have made an arrest in connection with an armed robbery at the Walmart near Bonita Lakes. Police said 23-year-old Michael Drake was arrested at the scene on July 5th around midnight.
“The suspect attempted to rob an individual with a bag he had in his hand, and they got in a struggle over a gun. A shot was fired and actually hit the victim,” said Captain John Griffith of the Meridian Police Department.
Police said the victim had been shopping in Walmart when Drake approached them in the parking lot. A witness notified police. Drake’s case is set to go before a grand jury.
