The Mississippi State Department of Health is reminding parents to get their kids vaccinated before school starts. School vaccinations are required by state law for entry into kindergarten and 7th grade.
“We’re asking patients and parents to come in soon. Don’t wait until the last minute since school is right up on us, starting in less than a month for most places. Go ahead and get in as soon as you can to get your vaccinations,” said District 6, 8, and 9 Health Officer, Dr. Christy Thornton.
School vaccines are available at many local health facilities. The State Department of Health is offering them for $10 per vaccination, or for free based on a family’s income.
