Meridian Day at Neshoba County Fair is around the corner, and the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation is ready to invite visitors to Meridian.
“The Neshoba County Fair is a well-known tradition. They give us the opportunity to come over on the Wednesday of the fair week, and we get to show a little bit about what Meridian has going on and all the great things that we have happening,” said EMBDC Events Coordinator, Casey Holladay.
The EMBDC will introduce residents of surrounding counties to the services that Meridian has to offer.
“We partner with NAS Meridian, MCC, MSU Meridian, the City of Meridian, and then hospitals: Rush Hospital, Anderson, East Mississippi State Hospital, and Alliance,” said Holladay.
It will also inform them about the things unique to Meridian.
“For example when the Threefoot building is to begin construction, information about the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience, even the fact that Mississippi State Games just celebrated its 25th year,” said Holladay.
Meridian Day will feature a program of Meridian leaders who will formerly invite visitors to the city.
“We’ll have the mayor speak. We’ll have one of the board of supervisors, someone from the city council, and then our EMBDC board chair, Bob Luke. They’ll all say a few things and thank them for partnering with us. They can come over here to shop, eat, and use our hospitals and doctors. So it’s just a great opportunity to let them know what’s going on and to thank them for being such a great neighbor to us,” said Holladay.
