A celebration of food and beer will take place this Thursday at Meridian Little Theater’s third annual Oktoberfest fundraiser.
“We use it to buy equipment like advanced lighting and sound equipment, and to do repairs on our building, add things to the facility, to make it a better for our audience who come to support us,” said Executive Director Ronnie Miller.
Residents will have the chance to sample beers from several southern breweries.
“We are providing beer by the Mitchell distributing company, the craft beers that have become very
popular among people or across our nation,” said Miller.
The craft beers will be served with food from local restaurants.
“Harvest Grill for example will be serving brisket egg rolls paired with Sweet Water Hash Brown Ale. Mugshots is serving southwest egg rolls paired with Oskar Blues Beerito Ale, Dobi’s will be serving jambalaya paired with Southern Prohibition Devil’s Harvest Ale,” said Miller.
Brickhaus, Weidman’s, El Norte, and Deli on 5th will provide food as well. The event will also feature live music from Aa’ Keela and the Beats and a silent auction.
“We have several beautiful items, trips, paintings, the kinds of things that people would like to see and give as gifts to others,” said Miller.
Tickets are now $25 and will be $30 at the door. You must be at least 21 years old to attend.
