A large crowd gathered last night for a party with Fox 30 News.
“We’re here at the Temple Theater and we’re having a blast because Fox has done a reimagining of the 1975 cult classic, Rocky Horror Picture Show. We’re really excited because the Temple has kindly opened their doors to let us have a live viewing party tonight,” said Fox 30 News Account Executive, Mandy Malone.
Fox 30 News put on the event to help the community have a little fun this Halloween.
Everyone came wearing their best costumes.
“I am a new version of Frank-N-Furter. I didn’t want to go too dark. I wanted to be myself but still channel Tim Curry’s version of Frank-N-Furter. But also, add a little bit of Laverne Cox as well because I wanted to be different and myself,” said Nykolas Alford, the event emcee.
“He asked me a week ago if I wanted to go. We both pulled these up last minute, in like the past three days,” said Jessica Pankhurst.
The crowd included fans of the film.
“It’s also a very weird, kooky thing. It’s not a normal thing that people are accustomed to. It kind of brings out the weirdness in people,” said Alford.
And those who hadn’t seen it.
“It’s a movie I’ve not seen and I actually want to see. My sisters told me everything about the movie, so I’m really excited to see it,” said Stephanie Lunsford.
Before the live viewing there was a preshow of local dancers and a costume contest. The fun night ended with an after party at Brickhaus Bar and Grill.
Fox 30 News would like to thank everyone for coming out, and Spirit Halloween, All-Star Tees and Trophies, Brickhaus, the Temple Theater, and Q101 for helping make the event a success.
