Mardi Gras is almost here and the City of Meridian is gearing up for its annual celebration. The Mardi Gras parade will be Saturday, February 25th on the City Hall lawn.
“It’s just a fun time in downtown Meridian. We’ve got some other fun activities as well. We’ve got live music on the stage. We’re going to have king cakes being sold by the young professionals. We’re selling Mardi Fras t-shirts. We want everybody to come out and get your t-shirts and enjoy the festivities,” said Cultural Affairs Coordinator Laura Carmichael.
Festivities will include the Bud & Barbecue cookoff, the Krewe of Barkus pet parade, and the Krewe of Midas float parade. T-shirts can be purchased by calling the Community Development Office downtown.
