A lot of great sports are happening this weekend. The State Games of Mississippi is kicking off with swimming, wheelchair fencing, disc golf, junior tennis, and more.
“We’re also gearing up for our opening ceremonies, which will be next Friday, June 16. We’ll have great live music and a lot of food. Gates open at 5. You can look forward to a parade of athletes, the lighting of the cauldron, and a spectacular fireworks display. We have surprises in store too,” said Marketing and Development Director Krilecia Gianakos.
There are sports you can still sign up for. You can register at state gamesofms.org. The games will run the entire month and end June 28.
