Mississippi Power may soon partner with a company to build a Lauderdale County solar facility. Mississippi Power sent out the notice to customers yesterday.
According to the notice, the Lauderdale County solar facility would increase Mississippi Power’s renewable energy capacity and would power more than 23,000 homes.
If approved by the Mississippi Public Service Commission, the project could be in service by the end of 2019. The project could also increase residential customer bills by approximately 12 cents per 1,000 kilowatt hours per month.
