To better respond to fires in the city, the Meridian Fire Department got a brand-new fire truck. Yesterday, the department unveiled its new quintuple combination pumper engine.
“This helps us do our job and accomplish our mission. It’s 107 feet, has a 1500 gpm-pump, holds 500 gallons of water, it’s state-of-the-art,” said Fire Chief Anthony Clayton.
The truck is now the largest fire engine at the department. It cost $1.2 million dollars and was financed through Citizens National Bank.
