A group of local pastors are coming together to discuss how to create a more unified community. The Ministerial Alliance of Meridian is continuing its ‘Let’s Talk Campaign,’ this time focusing on race. The group is inviting pastors and church leaders from any denomination to be a part of the discussion.
“The Bible says there’s no difference in male or female, bound or free, black or white. That’s our emphasis. What we’re doing as clergy is to begin to come together as black and white clergy to talk about our issues and how we can come together before we can begin to share the message of hope with our community,” said Rev. Gary Houston, the group’s president.
The event is Thursday at Northpark Church and starts at 6:30 p.m. The Ministerial Alliance of Meridian says it plans to host a community discussion about race in the future.
