School ratings are out

Chelsea Jones

Ratings for Mississippi school districts have been released for the 2016 – 2017 school year. The Lauderdale County School District scored a B, while the Meridian Public School District scored a D. Meridian High School moved to successful status, with its graduation rates at 78.5%. West Hills improved its failing rating from the previous year, and Popular Springs maintained its high-performance status. Meridian Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Amy Cater, says although the district is celebrating the success of those 3 schools, school leaders are looking closely at areas where performance did not improve.
