Once again… Meridian Community College students, faculty, and staff headed off campus and into the community today for My College Cares. This annual community service day is an opportunity for MCCers to give back and show the surrounding area how much they care. The baseball team took a swing at cleaning up Highway 19.
“The community is just one big family and we all have to help each other. We’ve seen boxes of soda and beer cans. We’ve seen random bags like Walmart bags and we’ve even seen tarps.”
Over 1,200 MCCers volunteered at schools and community outreach centers and accomplished a number of activities ranging from cleaning cemeteries, feeding meals to the homeless, planting flowerbeds, and painting buildings.
