A New Innovative Shoe Manufacturing Company calls Meridian Home

An Innovative Eco-Friendly sustainable shoe manufacturing company is underway here in The Queen City. The company will not only bring jobs to the community but will also change the Shoe Industry one sole at a time.

"So Shloop is a sustainable footwear innovation and manufacturing company where we're helping accelerate the adoption of a new novel and environmentally friendly materials into shoes and sneakers," stated Ryan Hunt, Shloop Co-Owner.

The company's idea was founded on the idea that you can use renewable materials like algae and recycled materials like plastic bottles and waste products into premium high-end footwear.

"So we've decided to take matters into our own hands, try to can take control of our destiny, if you will, and build our own manufacturing supply chain where we can control what products are specified, how sustainable we make the product, and how we can directly deliver that product to the consumer," said Hunt.

Hunt says that currently most of the world's footwear supply comes from manufacturing companies in China and by wanting a more sustainable product that shared the same values, shloop was born.

"So with our company, we're compressing the supply chain down. There's not five or six factories you have to work with in Asia. You've got us, you work with us. We source the materials, we help develop the designs. We actually prototype the shoes for the customer and make sure this is what people want to buy. And then we can take that directly into mass production in our same facility," explained Hunt.

The price range of Shloop Footwear will vary depending on style, material, and collection.

Hunt said," So we're developing a variety of footwear collections. Each collection is going to be made of different materials. It'll be made in different ways, it'll be in different styles. And therefore, there are going to be different price points for each collection."

Currently, Shloop is looking for employees with sewing and stitching skills as well as those with logistics experience.
