
Meridian MS - An awards program was held at Meridian High School to honor the senior class of 2023. Students also received scholarships to help them after high school.
There were many awards given out to the students, senior Jordan Davis explains how it all feels. “Amazing, but also kind of sad that it’s over with. But I know even though my high school stage is over, my life is just beginning.”
Among the scholarships given last night, Ronald J Turner Sr. And the Meridian Housing Authority were able to award approximately $140,000.00 in academic scholarships to ten seniors. “It was very exciting for the housing authority to be able to pour into the lives of these young people.”
The housing authority was also able to award $65,000 each, in the Jeanell Kid Endowment Scholarship, to two students as full rides to the college of their choice in Mississippi. Jamire clayton is one of those students. “It feels amazing that I got that much money and can go wherever I want to.”
Meridian High says tonight was a night of honor and congratulates all their students.
