Anderson Regional Health System has added some new friends to the their team. The new ultraviolet light emitting robots are designed to enhanced sanitation across its facilities.
Researches say UV energy is proven to kill bacteria, fungi, and viruses, which includes 99.9 percent of coronavirus in the air and on hard surfaces.
“We have a large unit that treats the O.R. and we have the smaller towers that treat our patient care rooms,” says RN, MSN, and Director of Nursing Jason Cain. We’ve assigned them to our COVID units and any type of patient who has any type of infection, we treat that room prior to placing another patient in there.”
“I like these particular machines from skytron because when you put them in the room, they measure the room space, they measure objects in the room and have smart dose technology. The machine determines how much time the room needs to be treated.”
The machines also contain reliable safety features. No one is allowed to be in the room while the robots are cleaning. Anderson plans to add additional robots for availability to other areas.
