
Marion, MS - Marion Police spent the weekend helping children get ready to go back to school.
The Police Department held its annual “Stuff the Cruiser” back to school supply drive.
Lauderdale and all surrounding counties were able to get supplies for students.
Supplies were handed out from 8AM until they were gone.
“What we’re try to do here today and accomplish is make sure these kids got enough for the year to get started.” says Police Chief Randall Davis.
“Saves us a lot of money on our school supplies, being able to come through here and get these school supplies, I think they pretty much have everything they need.” says Ashley Watkins.
“We really appreciate it, it’s a great help, the backpacks and providing them notebooks and pencils, it’s a good start for gathering all the supplies that they need for school.” says Charloette Barksdale.
Police Chief Randall Davis says he was proud of the community’s effort to help kids start their school year off right.
