Are you looking for a job? The Lauderdale County School District and the Meridian Public School District are looking to fill their classrooms with exceptional candidates for the 2021-2022 school year. Positions for the new year range from teachers, coaches, support staff, etc. Both districts have job postings on their websites for those interested.
“On that site, you’ll be able to complete the application and upload your resume, reference letters and things pertaining to your application, in addition to seeing where our vacancies lie,” said MPSD Human Resources Director Kimberly Kendrick.
Because of COVID-19 protocols, your usual suit and tie for your interview will be seen only through screen. The districts have redirected the traditional progress to remain safe of others.
“It’s just kind of a 15-minute interview that our principals are reaching out to potential candidates,” said LCSD Human Resources Director Dr. DeShannon Davis.”They're getting their resume, talking to them about their credentials and just having a fill of who they are and what aspirations they might have.”

Shane Rodgers, the principal at West Lauderdale High School says they have already started receiving applications and going through the hiring process.
“We found some people out there that we are really happy to talk to. Through Zoom meetings, we’ve been able to talk to those people one on one and have some really good conversations with them,” said Rodgers. “We’re trying to build our file for those we need to keep in mind as we try to fill spots as teachers retire or move on in life to different things.”
Both districts are looking for candidates who simply love what they do.
“We want to have people who have a caring heart and lots of knowledge about their content area,” said Kendrick.
Job postings will stay up on the websites until all positions are filled. For more, visit Lauderdale and Meridian website.
