Arrest made in 80-Year-old Woman Kidnapping

Meridian police arrested Amber Jo Barnett for her involvement in the home invasion and kidnapping of an 80-year-old woman. The incident happened in early October.

After the break-in, the elderly woman was forced into the trunk of her vehicle. Meridian community college campus police later found the vehicle and the woman on campus.

A man who was initially arrested for the kidnapping has been cleared due to an investigation that showed he was not involved.

Barnett was charged with receiving stolen property and accessories after the fact. She has since bonded out of jail.
