Arrests made in the death of 5-year-old Zy’kerioun Brown

The chief of the meridian police department held a press conference this evening where they announced the arrest in the drive-by shooting that took place last year that resulted in the death of 5-year-old Zy’Kerioun Brown.

"This evening at approximately 3:00 pm today, the U.S. Marshals, along with Meridian Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, made two arrests in the August 7th, 2021 drive-by shooting of five-year-old Zy’Kerioun Brown. The two suspects that were taken into custody are Daniel Reed and Brandon Reed," stated Chief of Police Deborah Young.

There is a $ 1 million bond set for both suspects for second-degree murder. Police say they will continue investigating this case pending further arrest.
