Be Aware of Deer While Driving!

csims121

Meridian, MS - Automobiles are considered to be a necessity in everyday life, and nobody wants to have theirs damaged.

This is why Brandon Beddingfield of Charlie Beddingfield’s Perfection Collision Center warns local drivers to be cautious of deer movement.

“In September actually we start seeing deer hits pick up even though it's still warm because they get stirred up and they know something is going on and get to moving and get scared. But usually, when it starts getting cold, we see it pick up a lot more in November and December when they get to rutting, that’s when we really see a lot of deer hits.”

He also has advice for any drivers who have seen deer while traveling on the roads they frequently use.

“A lot of times it's good to pay attention to where you see deer heading home. You’ll kind of see where they are always passing through, you usually see them in the same spots a lot of times. So always slow down in those areas that you see them.”

Mr. Beddingfield also told Twin States News that sometimes there is nothing you can do to avoid the collision.

“Sometimes it's just impossible to avoid them when you’re going around a curve they just run into your car. You can stop sometimes, and they’ll run into your car.”

Mr. Beddingfield wanted me to warn not only those who live in the county areas but the people in the city limits of Meridian as well.

He has seen deer right behind his shop on North Hills Street.
