Some students today at meridian high school were able to get a little futuristic with their learning.

Today marks the first interaction between Meridian High school and Beta Box with the help of Gear Up Mississippi. Today students got the opportunity for some hands on stem learning while learning about the computer science of bringing things like drones alive.
Beta Box Guide Sean said, "So Beta Box is all about sparking hands on learning and lifelong excitement for technology and students everywhere."
With so many new things in the world of technology, The Beta Guide explained what the students will learn today.
"So today we're doing autonomous vehicles day. So it's self driving cars, 3d printing, manufacturing and flying drones. And so basically, we're learning computer science skills."
Students in the engineering classes here at meridian high were the lucky ones to experience this new learning opportunity.

11th Grader Adrianna Mccaleb said,"Today, we looked at a 3D printer and we played with the drones. The jobs are really interesting. We can do flips with them. And we talked about how it can improve the world."
“Its great its going good right here. I most enjoyed playing with the drones.” stated Emanuel Wilson.
Devin Portis future engineer-er said, “Its very fun to learn about new 3d printing and the autonomous self drive vehicles and learn about new technology."
The gear up Mississippi administered by Mississippi State University teamed up with Beta Box which allows access for students to experience high quality hands on stem experience and curriculum.
