The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department released the names of four bodies that were found yesterday afternoon. Three bodies were found at a residence on Jeffery Acres Road and one body found on Highway 19 South at a residence in the Whynot Community. The sheriff’s department was notified by several individuals stressing concerns of the victims not showing up for work nor able to be contacted.
The victims were identified as 90-year-old Virginia Jay, 64-year-old Beverly Kaiser Fulton, 39-year old April Fulton Tucker and 14-year-old Bryce Fisher Tucker.
The suspect of the homicide is 40-year-old Matthew Jay Tucker who later took his own life after a pursuit by law enforcement in Lamar County.
“Deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 400 Block of Jeffery Acres Road to do a welfare check. Based on the information that was given by multiple parties and the fact that vehicles were at the residence and no one would come to the door, forced entry was made,” said Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department. “After doing that, two bodies were located inside of the home. After that, a third body was located in an out-building owned property. Another 911 call was made in regard to a residence on Highway 19 South where another individual was also dead.”
The suspect was recently charged with domestic violence simple assault back in October 2020. This story is still under investigation on the cause of death.
