Care Lodge in Meridian plans to hold a 5k race for Domestic Violence Awareness

In Meridian, Care Lodge announced that it will be holding its 2nd annual 5k race for Domestic Violence Awareness virtually.

Now allowing participants to register for its “Break Away 5k”, Care Lodge will be holding the race from October 11- October 17. Participants will record their times and routes, then submit them to the Care Lodge once they complete the virtual 5k. The proceeds from the race will be used to help domestic violence victims.

“One cool thing about a virtual 5K is you can do it wherever you are. You can do it on a treadmill, you can do it in your neighborhood. So, I think its even more engaging, because you can do it wherever you are. You can do it in Tennessee, or here with us in Meridian. So, we hope that we can get more support and show more awareness and educate more about domestic violence in victims, through doing a virtual 5k,” said Abby Miller, Executive Director at Care Lodge.
