CARES Grant Awarded To The MAX

In Meridian, the Mississippi Humanities Council has awarded the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience one of the twenty-eight Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security emergency grants they have awarded to qualifying humanities organizations.

The CARES Act recognizes that the nonprofit arts industry an important part of America’s economy, and with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities, as part of the federal CARES Act, the Mississippi Humanities Council has awarded a grant of $20,000 to the MAX.

“We’re very appreciative of the Mississippi Humanities Council for providing these funds, it’s going to be a tremendous help as we retool to reach broader audiences and the CARES grant is not going to sustain us through this challenging time, but its going to help us with our technology to reach out and share our programs with other people around the state and in Meridian”, said Mark Tullos, President/CEO of The MAX.

The $20,000 grant will help support the MAX’s education and programming efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
