Celebrating National Taco Day

csims121

Meridian, MS - It may not be Taco Tuesday, but it is National Taco Day!

To celebrate, Twin States News stopped by Mr. Taco to grab a bite to eat.

While there, customers such as Douglas Stewart expressed their love for tacos.

“What don’t I love about tacos? They’re hand-sized, they’re easy to eat. You can find them almost anywhere. You can have just about any filling in them. I like soft tacos. I like crunchy tacos. Sour Cream, Hot sauce, tomato, lettuce, cheese, but there is something about a simple street taco when it's just green salsa and some steak and no cheese, beautiful.”

Mr. Stewart also told us about his favorite meal from Mr. Taco.

“When I came here and the first thing I saw on their menu was they had a California burrito, which is carne asada with French fries in a burrito, that’s what I got. But when I came back again I got tacos, steak tacos, carne asada tacos, I’m a carne asada guy.”

First-time customers like, Raymond Flint, have heard the hype about Mr. Taco and decided to find out for himself on National Taco Day.

“The guys at work said that this place is really good to come to. I got some steak tacos today, and the way it smells, smells fantastic, so we are going to try to give it a shot.”

Mr. Flint also explained why he likes tacos, and how he wants his dressed.

“I like soft tacos. I like to try to be a little healthy with it, so lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese. Steak or beef, I don’t really eat a lot of the chicken tacos. That’s what I like.”

“On National Taco Day, Mr. Taco on 8th Street is a great place to celebrate this delicious holiday.”
