This past week The Central's Children’s Center hosted their Annual Trike-A-Thon to raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital and today they celebrate with a parade on the money they have raised as well as promoting raising money for St. Jude’s.
Glenda Thomas the Director of The Central's Children's Center had this to say, “We’re raising money that last year we raised $15,000. And this year that's our goal again. This year so far, we've raised almost we've raised over $11,000. So hopefully we are going to meet that goal of $15,000.”
Thomas says that they initially started the fundraiser when they had children at St. Jude’s and it’s such a wonderful program that they keep it going every year.
“Years ago, we had several children who either were connected to our church itself or went through our program here who had some form of childhood cancer. And they all were taken care of by St.
Jude’s hospital, “said Thomas.
Today I had the honor of being a judge of the decorations and the parade which was very hard because they all looked so adorable in their costumes. Each class had its own theme with a float and costumes to match.

“Today is our big parade to raise money for St. Jude’s, which is wonderful because they're raising money not only for children and their families here in the United States but also Internationally. And we're having a minor down at the parade close, but it's super fun. The kids have a good time,” said Teacher Jennifer Raymond.
The fundraiser continues until April 12th with the class who brings in the most money wins an ice cream party.
