Children's Museum 1st Ever Back to School bash!

Many kids are dreading the end of the summer. Mississippi’s Children’s Museum is sending them off with one last hoorah before the school year begins.

In partnership with Meridian Public Schools and Lauderdale County Schools. Mississippi’s children’s Museum will be hosting their first back-to-school bash for the students. Giving them one last day of summer fun.

The Director of Education of the museum stated.
“We decided it was very important to celebrate our children going back to school, Education, literacy all of the things our children learn in school is very important.”
With COVID running rampant currently, I asked Clair if they will be taking precautions during the back-to-school bash to keep everyone safe while celebrating?
“Absolutelymasks, mask are encouraged but not required, our staff will be wearing masks and we will have many of our activities out here and spread out throughout the museum.”
When asked if there will be a limit of how many people are allowed to attend the event huff stated.
“No there is no limit to the number of people because we are using our indoor and outdoor spaces.”
With this being their first back-to-school bash Huff explained all activities that will be taking place tomorrow.
“We have a Dj who will be with us provided by the radio people, we will have cheerleaders, face painting, outdoor activities like corn hole, giant Jenga.”
The back-to-school bash will be tomorrow night from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Museum and Huff is asking all to come out and celebrate.
“ We will have a photo op for families to take that back to school pictures as well as a few giveaways for our families.”
The Back To School Bash will be the first of many to be hosted at the Mississippi Children’s Museum. The Museum has made a great impact here in Meridian for children and families alike. The Museum was awarded the 2021 National Medal for Museum and Library Service and was the only Children’s Museum to be selected for the award this year. The Mississippi Children’s Museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and then from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
