Meridian, MS - City crews are working on a collapsed street in Meridian.
Crewmen from the City’s Line Maintenance Department are repairing a hole at the intersection of Eighth Street and 39th Avenue.
According to Lines Maintenance Superintendent James Clayton a sewer line at the intersection collapsed, causing the street to undermine and cave in.
The area will be closed to traffic on Eighth Street, between 38th Avenue and 40th Avenue, and 39th Avenue, between Seventh Street and Ninth Street.
Repairs to the street are expected to continue Friday.
