City efforts to encourage COVID public safety!

In efforts to keep the residents of Meridian safe during the states COVID spike. The city of Meridian has organized a mask and hand sanitizer distribution.

The fire department crew handed reusable masks and bottles of hand sanitizer provided by the city to any cars that drove by and wanted them.

“We had a great turnout. I don’t know how many masks we gave out because we started before, we were ready. We had people who got here thirty minutes before we were supposed to start, so we started handing out early, but we gave a bunch out”, said Fire Chief Jason Collier.



Each car was allowed two masks per person with up to ten masks per car. The crew also gave away one bottle of hand sanitizer per car.


This is only one of three distributions; the city has organized. The next distribution will be this Saturday from 9 A.M. until 11 or until supplies run out.
