City hires new Communication Director

The city of Meridian has brought in a new Communications Director. A native of Meridian, Ida Brown, officially began in the position Monday inside the Mayor's office.

"This is an exciting time for Meridian. There's a lot of growth. There are a lot of good things that are happening to Meridian that people need to know about, and I hope I'll be able to be the person that informs them of that", said Brown.

Brown recently worked for Meridian Star for more than 30 years. She says she's now looking forward to being a part of the city's growth.
