Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child begins

Today kicked off Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child, which will last through November 23rd. Over 4,000 locations, including Northcrest Baptist Church in Meridian are participating for drop-offs.

Once the boxes full of toys and other items are packed, they are sent to a processing plant and then shipped to children around the world. Items in the box should make every child feel loved and appreciated during the holiday season.

“You put things in that are meaningful--colors, coloring books, dolls balls, toothbrushes, hair ribbons-things that will let them know they are loved and thought about from other people,” said Central Dropoff Coordinator Cathy Raley. “They need to know that they are loved, not only by us, but by Jesus also.”
