Community Health Fair in Meridian

jroby5

Meridian MS - It’s National Public Health Week, and many organizations are reaching out to the Meridian community to make people aware of their health.

Health system social work intern, Heather Radcliffe says the event is all about the community. “So today the office against interpersonal violence is putting together a community health fair to offer violence prevention resources and health resources and integrate them together into the community.”

Heather is not the only one excited to help out, placement student, Zoe Null and student LPN Kamryn Rodriguez explain how this event is beneficial to them, and to the community.

“It's really great for me, for the work force. I get to practice, case management, community outreach, and I get to volunteer at places like this.” - Zoe Null

“We see a lot of homeless people, a lot of people that really can't afford health care. So, to be out here, they just like helps us to learn and to get more action. And it also helps the public.” - Kamryn Rodriguez

Matt Schanrock of meridian is one of the people who showed up at the health fair. “Well, actually, I was just getting out to get some coffee and saw everyone standing out here, so I decided to stop by and kind of see what was going on.”
