Culinary Park Opens

The Downtown area now has expanded the community eating options. The City of Meridian has officially opened its Culinary Park. A one-stop shop for all things food trucks. Culinary Park offers a variety of different options to choose from. We hear from Food Truck owners and customers about how they feel about now having a destination dedicated to food trucks.

“I think it's a sweet addition to already the environment that we have with the city. And we already have a very warm and welcoming walking downtown with all of our attractions and our restaurants,” stated Meridian Resident Morgan Dudley.

Culinary Park is open every and since the food trucks are independently owned, they are able to open and operate at their own hours, we hear from some food truck vendors about their new truck designation.

“It feels really good to have an area in the community that we can bring a food truck to. So a lot of people that want to taste different things to come out and enjoy the food,” said Ariel Grady from Cook it Up.

Lisa Borders from Dabs Chicken and Waffle,” Oh, it feels absolutely wonderful just to have a place for food trucks to come in and offer our actually these different products.”

City council member Ty Bell Lindsey says that she is thrilled to have the Culinary Park open Downtown as it will be a great economic impact and also bring the community Downtown.

“I'm just so thrilled. I hope everybody comes and gets a taste of everything, of all of the food trucks that we have to offer. We have such a variety and I switch out on certain days and some days we have certain food trucks and maybe some days we have others, “said Lindsey.

We previously spoke with the owner of Culinary Park Jimmy Copeland last when he was initially trying to get Culinary Park started. Now that it’s finally completed, he shares his thoughts.

“I hope the public will come and embrace it. This idea was to have one location where food trucks could gather, and the city supported that,” said Copeland.
