Meridian, MS - As National Red Ribbon Week Continues, Students at Southeast Elementary had a chance to learn about the dangers of drugs.
The students listened to information from officials of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department, and also received a visit from “Darren; the DARE Lion.” According to Captain Brian Fortenberry, it is a necessity to start Drug Education, even at a young age.
“It’s a community effort to keep these Children Drug Free.” says Captain Fortenberry.
“If it makes a difference in one child’s life, that’s worth all of it.” says Elijah Acklin "Darren the Lion."
Darren, and Lauderdale County Officials want the children to understand dangers of drug, and the importance of being drug free.
