Data Released On Businesses That Received PPP Loans

This week, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Department of Treasury released data regarding the loans made under the paycheck protection program, identifying businesses that received PPP loans.

The information released by the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Department of Treasury, includes the names of businesses that received a PPP loan, their address, the number of jobs retained, and a range of the loan amount received. However, the specific loan amount was not listed in this data.

The SBA only released all of this information for businesses that received loans of more than $150,000 for those that received less than that loan amount the only information that was omitted was the names of the businesses along with their addresses.

In the state of Mississippi, 3,890 businesses received a loan of more than $150,000, and in the state of Alabama 7,872 businesses received a loan of more than $150,000.

Here’s the range of the loan amounts above $150,000 listed:

• $150,000-350,000

• $350,000-1 million

• $1-2 million

• $2-5 million

• $5-10 million

In Meridian, there were 114 PPP loans of more than $150,000 dollars distributed locally.

Accompanying the release of this information, Steven Mnuchin, Treasury Secretary, stated “the ppp is providing much-needed relief to millions of American small businesses, supporting more than 51 million jobs and over 80 percent of all small business employees, who are the drivers of economic growth in our country.”

As of June 30, there is more than $130 billion left in the Paycheck Protection Program, and thanks to the recent extension of the deadline for applying for a PPP loan from the initial deadline of June 30, businesses will now have until August 8 to apply.
