The Debs Social Service Club is partnering with Uptown Meridian and Vitalant to host the Holly Jolly Deb Blood Drive this Saturday from 2p.m. to 6p.m. The blood drive will be held at the former Justice location next to Kirkland’s in the mall. The club has been planning the drive since November in order to provide the need of blood during the COVID-19 shortage.
“We were asked if we wanted to do this blood drive due to the pandemic and the circumstances. Some of the hospitals were needing more blood and when we were approached our immediate reaction was “yes, we’d love to help out in our community in this fashion” because we’ve been trying to focus more on direct community events,” said Evan Grace Branstetter, President of the Debs Social Service Club. “The hospitals are so overwhelmed right now, especially with the sudden spike.”
To give blood, you can register online, providing your name, email and phone number. Walk-ins are welcome during the blood drive.
