Meridian, MS - For some people, gifts are considered a big deal on the holidays. One gift that many people may have their eye on is a new car.
“This Year has been another marquee year in car sales, supply change is still slower than pre-covid, but all in all it’s been a great year in car sales,” says Bo Hawkins.
Bo Hawkins is the sales manager at Nelson Hall Chevrolet in Meridian and is highly anticipating car sales for the holidays. “We had a great October, November’s been good, we look forward to a solid super close in December; Christmas presents, Graduation Presents, all those different things come into play, and we’re looking forward to a big December.”
He also mentioned the effects of the United Auto Workers Strike from earlier this year on the demand for cars. “It takes a while to get supply back up to meet demand. And that's where we’re at right now, but we’re getting there gradually week by week, and expect by the end of year for everything to be running like it should be.”
Overall, Hawkins looks forward to assisting customers with end-of-the-year deals. “End of the year people come in for close-out sales; we’re expecting a big promotion from General Motors during the month of December, we don’t know what that will be, but we are expecting a big promotion that will drive traffic into the store for people to get a great deal to close out the year on.”
As the Christmas Season is here and the end of the year is approaching, car dealerships in Meridian are looking forward to a great close out of the 2023 year.
