Doctors encourage Vaccinations as Fall Season begins.

jroby5

Meridian, MS - As the weather starts to cool down and transitions to the fall season, doctors in the City of Meridian are encouraging the public community to be up to date on all vaccinations.

“Especially for people who are immunocompromised, they have any sort of immune deficiency, they will be for sure in the high risk, and they should be the ones going to get vaccinated.” says Dr. Deylamipour.

As some national studies have shown Mississippi to be one of the least vaccinated, Dr. Joe Deylamipour of Meridian, feels social stigma, and lack of resources could be part of the reason. “Some areas in Mississippi are more underserved, and we definitely don’t have enough health care providers, and health care facilities for the population we have here.”

While Dr. Deylamipour encourages getting vaccinations, he wants the community the be aware of other ways to stay healthy as well. “Have a good hygiene, wash your hand properly throughout out the day every day, also wearing a mask. If you are immunocompromised try to avoid like crowded places, and if you have to go to these places, wearing a mask will help out.”

Health Officials say that it’s important to remember as summer comes to an end and we enter the fall season, that you need to stay up to date on your vaccinations.
