Quitman, MS - Clarke County Hot Topics is celebrating the holiday season with a little bit of giving.
The Annual CCHT Toy Drive is currently accepting gifts to donate to families in need.
Owner and creator of Hot Topics, Chad Allen, tells Twin States News why he started this toy drive.
“The lord laid it upon my heart 11 years ago to start this thing, and it’s been 100% for the kids. We just ask for people who want to donate, to donate new unwrapped toys, no clothing, no food items. We will distribute them out here in about a week.”
Mr. Allen said the kid's faces just light up with smiles when they receive their toys.
The direct impact of these toys has touched several kids over the years.
“The community always comes together in Clarke County and they give. I can’t really give a direct number of how many children we’ve helped over the years, but its several hundred, and that number gets bigger every year.”
A local in Quitman expresses why donating is important during the holiday season.
“It’s so important to donate to needy children because there are so many children out there that don’t have anything. It may be because their parents can’t afford it, or it may be because some of their parents don’t care.”
Donations can be dropped off at the Clarke County Tribune for this toy drive.
