Donate to Hope Village for a tax credit.

Meridian, MS - With tax season approaching as we near the end of 2023, it’s time to start thinking about ways to get those last-minute deductions.

Hope Village for Children is offering a couple of ways to do exactly that.

With a charitable donation, you can get a deduction on your tax return.

Terri Province with Hope Village shares more information about these tax credits.

“Those allow an individual or a business to donate up to 50% of their state tax liability. So it’s just a matter of if you want to pay Mississippi State Tax or if you gave us a donation, you could claim that donation on your state taxes and get a dollar-for-dollar tax credit.”

Ms. Province took it a step further for anybody new to or unfamiliar with taxes.

“So if you had a tax liability of $5,000, you could donate $2,500 to us, and then when you file your state taxes you could take that 100% 2,500 off of your state tax liability.”

Not only would you benefit, but the kids at Hope Village would as well.

“You’re going to pay it one way or another. So, we could give it to the state, which I know they would be doing amazing things with it as well. But this would give you an opportunity to focus your money on things that are important.”

Hope Village encourages you to take advantage of this opportunity while you can and donate to this impactful cause.

The deadline to donate is the last day of the year, December 31st.
