This past weekend on Saturday, October 17, the Dream Team of The South partnered with two non-profit organizations, Sunday School Live, and Black Voters Matter to hold a drive-through notary day. The organizations set up a tent in the parking lot adjacent to the Temple Theater from 10am-2pm. Absentee voters were able to drive to the Black Voters Matter tent with their absentee ballots from any state, and receive a witness signature and stamp in presence of notary on their ballots.

“With people being over the age of 65 and having, can request an absentee ballot, we just want to make it easy for people and offer them complimentary notary services to minimize any reason for them to not cast their vote this year,” said Pastor Allan Cole with Sunday School Live.
“We want people to know that this election is so crucial, we are willing to go to whatever extent for legal representation of your right to vote,” said Bettye Jones, volunteer with the drive-through notary day event.
In order to vote absentee, you must contact the Lauderdale County circuit clerk and request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you and then have it notarized, or you can go to the circuit clerk’s office house and request an absentee ballot and complete it in person, and they will notarize it then.
