Drive-through toy distribution held at the Boys and Girls Club in Meridian

In Meridian, a drive-through toy distribution was held on behalf of Meridian native Raekwon Davis, who is currently a NFL football player with the Miami Dolphins.

The gifts were distributed to children today at the Boys and Girls Club on 45th Avenue. The group “Rae’s Elves” gave out more than 1,000 toys. Some of the toys gifted to local children were dolls, bluetooth speakers, and scooters.

“I think for one, -- for Raekwon’s family to be here is pretty significant to be able to give back to his community with him being a rookie. I think its very significant for him. I know he wishes he can be here, but these are the roots that raised him. So, for him to be able to do this in the midst of a pandemic. I think is very rewarding for him,” said Valyncia Johnson, Lead Consultant for Images Management and Lead Project Manager for Rae’s Elves.

Rae’s Elves also held a distribution of sanitation items at the Wesley House Community Center on Tuesday, December 22, as a part of a campaign for hygiene for the homeless.
