Earth's Bounty returns Saturday in Meridian

MERIDIAN, Miss. - The City of Meridian is kicking off its’ 10th year Earth’s Bounty this Saturday. The event will be at Singing Brakeman Park from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. As a part of the Arbor Day celebration, Mississippi Power will give away 80 fruit trees for first come shoppers. Trees will include mayhaw, blueberries and pears. Returning vendors will be selling goods as well as new vendors.
“We’ll have returning vendors-our classics like Ms. Linda doing canned goods. We’ll also have some new vendors to do baked breads and baked goods and some produce," said Craig Wilkes of Community Development. "So we’ll have strawberries from Mathis Farm which is local.”
The city will be enforcing the use of mask as part of the mask mandate. The mandate has been extended until April 30th.
“We will be of course promoting our mask--people wearing a mask and we will also be promoting social distancing--all those guidelines still with the COVID all those guidelines in place," said Community Development Director Laura Carmichael.
Free health checks will also be available by the Greater Meridian Health Clinic and live entertainment.
