Meridian, MS - A new look can soon be expected for a piece of history in Meridian.
Building renovations are expected for the Dentzel carousel house in Highland Park.
City of meridian parks and recreation director Thomas Adams said the department applied and will receive a grant of $239,000 from the Mississippi department of archives and history to continue restoring the attraction.
The carousel is now open to ride for the summer, the hours are Monday through Sunday from 1p.m. to 5 p.m.
