School is right around the corner and toady meridian public schools had registrations. Twins states news Donisha Branham has the story.
With COVID on the rise meridian public schools had a great turnout as parents came to register their children for face to face learning. I was able to speak with some faculty and parents on how they feel about classes resuming amidst a possible 4th wave of a COVID.
One of the parents stated “I like it, it’s way better than the computers. The computers were annoying. As long as they wear their mask and do their cleaning, I’m fine with it.”
Parent Tanisha Cole stated ”I’m pretty comfortable with them returning to school because on site learning is better than the virtual learning to me. I just make sure to tell them to keep their mask on and to use hand sanitizer and Lysol and just kind of stay safe.”
Another parent stated “ I think it’s a great thing and I’m happy to have her here and we receive a lot of good pointers to open our mind up.
I was able to speak with assistant principal Fredrick Liddell on if CDC guidelines will be a factor or not this school year.
“We are going to leave that up to district and do whatever district tells us to do and that’s the road we will take on that”
We are preparing for the next school year by getting the parents out and getting the children registered for the school year. The sooner we can get them registered the sooner we can get them in school.
Parents seem to be at ease with their children retuning to face to face learning. Some parents stated they will still be sending their children to school with mask and hand sanitizers. Donisha Branham twin states news.
