Feed by Faith Receives $1,000 Donation

The organization, Let’s Talk Mission, presented a thousand-dollar check to the non-profit soup kitchen, Feed by Faith this morning. The money was raised and donated from different churches in the Meridian area.

“This means a lot. We cannot express our gratitude to the community that supports us. We are able to feed many, many people”, said Carolyn Martin. “They come here for help. We turn no one away. Everyone is served and we serve. We're open five days a week. We serve three days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:30 to 12:30. And we thank you. Everything that we come in Feed by Faith goes out directly to the community”

Some of the members of the Let’s Talk Mission organization presented the check. Some of them include Rhett Payne of First Presbyterian Church, Gary Houston of Northside Church of the Nazarian, and Mark Benson of First Christian church.

“We were in our planning meeting and just talking about who would be the beneficiary of the offering. And I recommended Feed by Faith. They've been around for about 15 years. Feeding people here on Fifth Street. We knew about their good work, and I recommended them to the group. And everybody immediately chimed in and said, yes, that's who we want to support this year”, said Benson.

Feed by Faith is looking for volunteers to come out and help continue its mission to give back to the community.
